This Disclaimer explains the scope and limitations of the coaching, mentoring, and training services offered by SophraCyber. Please read it before using our services or relying on materials on this website.

This Disclaimer is informational only. It does not limit any rights you have under Dutch or EU consumer law and does not override the Terms of Service, any signed Coaching and Mentoring Agreement or any online-accepted Training Agreement. If there is any conflict, the agreement always prevails.

Nature and Scope of Services

SophraCyber provides professional coaching, mentoring, and cybersecurity training to individuals for development, skills‑building, and goal achievement. Coaching/mentoring/training are not therapy, counseling, medical, legal, or financial services. Our practitioners do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions and do not provide medical, legal, or financial advice. The scope and objectives of each engagement are defined in your Coaching/Mentoring Agreement or Training Agreement.

SophraCyber is not a healthcare provider and does not operate under protected titles regulated by the Dutch Wet BIG. Any recordings or transcripts of sessions (if used) occur only with prior, explicit consent and are governed by our Privacy Policy.

Coaching vs. Therapy/Counseling

Coaching is a collaborative, client-centered process focused on facilitating personal and professional growth, self-awareness, and goal attainment. Coaching is not therapy, counseling, or crisis intervention. It does not involve the diagnosis or treatment of mental health conditions, nor does it replace the care of qualified healthcare professionals.

If, during the course of coaching, mentoring, or training, it becomes apparent that you may benefit from therapy, counseling, or other specialized support, you will be encouraged to seek assistance from an appropriately qualified professional. SophraCyber may refer clients to other professionals when issues fall outside the scope of coaching, mentoring, or training, in line with ICF and IMC ethical guidelines.

Coaching vs. Mentoring vs. Training

SophraCyber offers coaching, mentoring, and training as distinct services, each with its own purpose and approach:

  • Coaching: a collaborative, client‑centered process that builds self‑awareness, clarifies goals, and supports action. Coaches do not give directives, they facilitate your thinking and decision‑making.

  • Mentoring: experience‑based guidance in a specific domain. Mentors may offer suggestions while respecting your autonomy.

  • Training: structured knowledge/skills transfer with defined learning objectives and outcomes.

Clients should not expect coaching, mentoring, or training to serve as therapy, counseling, or crisis intervention. The boundaries and expectations for each engagement are defined in the relevant agreement.

No Guarantees

SophraCyber is committed to providing high-quality coaching, mentoring, and training services in accordance with professional standards. However, we do not guarantee any specific outcomes, results, or improvements as a result of participating in our services.

Success in coaching, mentoring, or training depends on many factors, including the client’s engagement, commitment, and circumstances beyond the control of SophraCyber. Any examples of success or testimonials provided on this website are not intended as promises or guarantees of similar results for other clients.

Nothing in this section excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is not permitted by Dutch law.

Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for their own decisions, actions, and well-being throughout the coaching, mentoring, or training process. SophraCyber practitioners will support and facilitate your growth, but ultimate responsibility for implementing insights, making choices, and pursuing goals rests with you.

Participation in coaching, mentoring, or training is voluntary, and you may discontinue at any time, subject to the terms of your agreement.

Professional Boundaries and Referrals

SophraCyber adheres to the ethical standards of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and the International Mentoring Center (IMC). We maintain clear professional boundaries and will only provide services within the scope of our qualifications and expertise.

If your needs fall outside that scope, we will recommend or refer you to an appropriately qualified professional (such as a therapist, counselor, medical, legal, or financial advisor). This is done in your best interest and in accordance with our ethical obligations.

Safeguarding and Crisis Support

Coaching is not crisis intervention or an emergency service. If you or someone else is at immediate risk, call 112. For suicide prevention support in the Netherlands, contact 113 (standard rate) or 0800‑0113 (free, 24/7), or chat via 113.nl. Where we reasonably believe there is imminent risk of serious harm, we may take appropriate steps, which can include encouraging you to seek emergency help or, where permitted/required by law, contacting emergency services.

Ethical and Professional Standards

SophraCyber aligns its practice with the ICF Code of Ethics. If you work with an ICF‑credentialed or member practitioner, your engagement also falls under the applicable ethics and complaints procedures of that body.
